Make San Jose the final fuel decision
There is no meaningful fuel-shopping opportunity on the summit road. Compare stations along the eastern San Jose approach before Highway 130 begins and start the climb with a comfortable reserve. This is a reliability choice first and a price choice second.

The last broad station set before the mountain road.
Alum Rock approach
Potentially route-native, but compare opening hours and detour direction.

Do not expect a normal fuel stop after the urban edge.
